Supper Clubs vs. Traditional Restaurants
Supper clubs are a hybrid between a dinner party and a pop-up restaurant, often held in a chef’s home or a private venue. Many have a cultural theme, offering an authentic glimpse into different cuisines and traditions.
When you book a supper club, you'll typically receive a set tasting menu, curated by the host. While dish choices are limited, most hosts are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions—so you can relax and let the chef take care of everything.
Why Supper Clubs Are So Popular
Chefs can showcase creativity – Without the constraints of a traditional restaurant, chefs can experiment with new flavors, concepts, and dishes.
Affordable fine dining – Many supper clubs offer gourmet experiences at a fraction of restaurant prices.
A personal, immersive experience – Get up close with the chef, learn about the dishes, and enjoy a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

How to Start Your Own Supper Club?
We can guide on you on setting up your very first supper club with our easy 7- step guide.
1. Have a clear concept
Consider what makes your supper club different to others or think of a theme. It's important to offer something guests cannot find in a restaurant setting.
Make sure you have a strong USP (unique selling point), and a clear answer to the following question: Why would people want to come and eat at my supper club?
2. Decide on the format
The beauty of supper clubs is that each one is different.
You might want to offer a welcome cocktail on arrival to set the tone of the evening and give guests the opportunity to mingle and meet one another.
Decide on the style of the rest of the event and the number of courses you will serve. Are you serving small tasting courses? or are you serving large sharing platters? This can depend on the cuisine you choose, or general style of hosting and the space where you're hosting.
3. Chose your venue
Choose the perfect venue for your supper club. Are you able to host guests in your own home, or would you like to host guests in an external venue, such as a cafe or private event space? Consider reaching out to local bars or event spaces. Maybe you can collaborate with a neighbour or friend.
4. Tell your story
By hosting a supper club, you are creating a personal relationship between you and your guests. If hosting at home, you'll be inviting them into your space, often be cooking and preparing dishes in an open kitchen and you’ll be personally hosting the event. Embrace this! Your guests have generally paid to come along because they are interested in the food you are cooking, where the ingredients and inspiration came from and your own personal stories. Make sure you weave this into the event. It really helps build a rapport with your guests and hopefully will mean you have lots of repeat customers for future events.
5. Set your price
We recommend starting with a lower price to attract guests and to start generating reviews. When chefs host a supper club for the first time, they are often testing a new concept and want to gauge the response from guests and foodies. Once you know the concept works and you’re generating bookings and reviews, you can gradually increase the price, but it is always best to set your supper club prices low and sell tickets at first, rather than block people from booking with a high price point.
